The donation of August 2016 goes to:
Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity
The Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity offers an early intervention service for babies and children under five years of age with cerebral palsy and other motor learning difficulties at our School for Parents in West Sussex.
In the UK around 1,800 babies are diagnosed with cerebral palsy each year.
Families attend a weekly three-hour session which is structured to focus on achieving success. A highly skilled and professional team use the principles of Conductive Education, an active education programme of learning to help a child develop physical, emotional, social and communication skills through play activities which are fun.
Children are taught through their parents, and the skills learned are then incorporated into the child’s daily routine at home to maximise their abilities and build confidence and self-esteem in both parent and child.
I just wanted again to say what a wonderful thing it is you do. Your Donate a Day facebook page is really so creative and i wish we had more people in the world like you. Thank you again so so much from all of us and Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity
